Meet Sheryl Anne Vermudez
Sheryl is heading into her senior year at Waipahu High School in Waipahu, Hawaii, where she maintains a 4.0 GPA. She is also a member of the Upward Bound college preparatory program and the National Honor Society. Although she hasn't selected a college yet, Sheryl has decided that she will be majoring in Forensic Science. She hopes to become a Forensic Scientist one day, particularly a Criminalist or Evidence Specialist.

In addition to science, Sheryl also enjoys math. She is currently the co-captain of the math team at her high school and competes in statewide math meets. Last year, she was recognized as the most outstanding student in her AP Calculus class. She now looks forward to taking on Calculus II this Fall.

When she's not busy crunching numbers, Sheryl enjoys playing and watching basketball, spending time with friends and relaxing. She also enjoys watching the TV shows Law and Order, Special Victims Unit and Royal Pains. Sheryl's favorite quote to live by is, "If you have all the confidence in the world, no one can stop you from achieving what you set out to do except for yourself."
